- I once saw a young child methodically squeezing and ruining strawberries in a store. I nicely said to the child "don't do that" and I found and said something to the nearby mother, kindly and earnestly.

- In 2003, I was taking a flight, with a tour group, from Juneau to Anchorage. For some reason, that airport there was set up so that the food places were all OUTSIDE the security screening instead of inside near the gates. I was already checked through and waiting at the gate with my group.
